WTF Facebook?!

I am so frustrated with all the recent facebook changes! Maybe it's my fault for using facebook, but it's where I keep in touch with old friends. It was fine before I don't get why they always try to change it and then they end up making it worst. I don't want to see Every. Single. Thing. my friends do and every comment they post, and every thing they "like" on the side timeline.

And what is this I hear about new profiles coming up? No! Just leave me and my crap alone. I think facebook is trying to stay relevant now that Google+ is open for business. But in my opinion they don't have to feel threatened or at least they didn't, I used to like facebook but now I'm don't know if I'll stick around. I opened a G+ today and it's better, simpler but also none of my friends have it so it's boring. If neither work for me I will just stick to twitter.

.....

I feel like a jackass now. Here I am complaining about facebook changes when many important things are happening in the world. I'm not sure what those things are but I'm positive something more important must be going on. Also, it's damn facebook! God forbid I go interact with people face to face! I already have a twitter, a tumblr, this blog, an account on Yahoo Answers, one on Youtube and now a Google+?! How many more ways to waste my time do I need? Time that I don't have, I must add. I really think it would be better to stay off the internet for a while. Maybe then I will actually get to do all the things I have to do instead of procrastinating as much as I do now.

It's just so darn hard to stay away!

Who needs love anyways?

The reason I wanted to do this post is because lately I feel like I've changed when it comes to relationships. Maybe it's normal, maybe I am just growing up? Some days ago I gave up on guys and the whole idea of love. It wasn't anything dramatic. I didn't burn any pictures or cried or ate excessive amounts of junk food or anything. I just gave up and moved on.. which was weird because I am (used to be?) so guy crazy I figured giving them up would be harder.

I mean it's not that there aren't any good guys out there or anything. I am sure there are PLENTY somewhere out there, too shy to approach the girls they like, or too busy being smart, hardworking and all the other qualities we girls dream of in a guy. But I have this feeling that none of those guys are for me.

I think I have always known. I have always had these feeling, this thought in the back of my mind that I am destined to never be in love. It's kind of sad I guess since I am such a romantic person. I love the whole concept of love. Finding that one person that fills your life with happiness and makes you feel whole when you hadn't even noticed you were in pieces before them. But no matter how big of a romantic I am, I can't seem to be able to fall in love.

I've gone out with guys. I've had crushes and boyfriends, and don't get me wrong, I have loved these guys.. I've just never been IN love with them. Call me crazy, but I feel like there is something I have to do. Like a mission in life type of thing. And I feel like until I do this thing I can't be in love with anyone. The problem is I have no idea what the thing I have to do is. I just have the lingering feeling that I am destined to fulfill a purpose.

I had always ignored this feeling. I tried to force myself to fall in love but it never worked. I mean I am 22 years old, isn't it a little strange I have never, ever been in love? Not once? I think it is. And it's not like there is something wrong with me. I mean, i'm not crazy, mean, a bitch or a psycho. Plus guys have been in love with me,(or at least that's what they told me), so it's not my attitude. It has to be something else. My only idea is that it's my destiny but I don't know for sure.

I know 22 is a little young to be giving up on love, but I also think it's time I embrace it. I think I will be one of those lonely, bitter, old ladies that yell at kids for stepping on her lawn. That lady that all kids fear and don't stop at her house to trick or treat on Halloween. Maybe I'll get tons of cats... I like cats. Yup, it's settled, I'll be the Crazy, Cat Lady on the block. On the bright side, I will save lots on Halloween candy!

Do you think I am destined to be a lonely cat lady? Should I start looking for affordable litter boxes online now? Have you ever felt this way? Am I just PMSing? (that last one could be, after all, I'm just a girl).

Favorite Trends Right now!!

So I will be talking about my favorite trends at this very moment. Keep in mind that these are just things that I like but I am not sure they are IN right now. I don't care as much about things being in or out of fashion. For example if I know leopard print jeans are IN I am not going to go out and buy a pair just because they are IN. Or if I see a pair of leopard print leggings that I love but I know they were IN last season and are not anymore, I will buy them and I will rock them! It's all about confidence and rocking the things that you like and that look flattering regardless of what magazines say.

Let's start with Hair:
The first hair trend that I like is Ombre Hair. I believe this was IN last year, not sure about this year but I plan on getting this look soon. The good thing about Ombre hair is that (and I'm only guessing here since I haven't gotten it yet), you don't have to keep dying your hair as often because the roots are supposed to be darker than the rest! Plus it looks so hot imo.

Here is a picture in case you don't know what I'm talking about

The second hair trend is Fishtail Braids! I love, love, LOVE braids. I think a messy fishtail braid is such a cute way to wear your hair instead of the usual ponytail or bun. Lauren Conrad just added a tutorial on how to do a fishtail braid and it's pretty simple. Here it is.

Finally, the last hair look I love right now is the Lob, also known as the Long Bob. I cut my hair in a Lob last year and I liked it a lot. I think it is flattering on almost, if not all face types and it looks so chic and sophisticated. Here is an example.

How cute does Anne Hathaway look with her Lob?

Moving on to Nails now, the first nail trend I like is the Crackle/Shatter effect. There are many nail polishes out there that do this now from OPI to Chanel to the cheap ones that they sell for $1 at the flea market. OPI are my favorite, not too expensive and good quality. Crackle polish is a fast and easy way to have edgy looking nails without going to the salon or spending hours doing nails designs yourself.

Other nail polishes I like right now are nude, white and orange. Nude nails are one of my favorite looks right now. They go well with everything and when the edges start to chip it's not as noticeable as with harsher colors. White nails look fantastic in my opinion, specially on darker skin tones and shorter nails. Finally, Orange nails are the new red! Although I think it is more of a summer color than fall but they look really cute with tan skin.

Shoes!!
As you might or might not know, I am a shoe-freak! I will talk about the shoes that I am crazy about at the moment other than the usual flats, sandals, sneakers and pumps. First off, Riding Boots! I love how riding boots look with just skinny jeans and a blouse. It's something I would throw on in 5 minutes to go to school and I wouldn't look like a complete slob. Sadly though, I have been looking for a pair that I like and that I can afford... I hadn't been lucky until right now! I found a pair that I really liked and that is crazy cheap while I was taking a little break from this! I'm so happy =D (I found it on urbanog.com in case you're wondering)

They look something like this but a lighter brown and not so good quality
You get what you pay for in shoes!

The next shoes I am crazy about right now are Wedge Booties. I really like how wedge booties look with jeans or a skirt or dress, with socks or thights, basically with anything! I have still to find the perfect pair for me but hopefully I find them soon. For now, here is a picture of a really cute pair i found.

I want these and I don't even like velvet!

Up next is the always classic Oxford. Oxford shoes are a staple in my wardrobe, they have been for a while now. I really like the androgenous look and I also like to dress kind of preppy sometimes and oxfords are perfect for both. It is as easy as wearing flats but they add an extra something to the outfit. Right now I had to throw away my brown pair which was also my favorite pair because they were so worn out. I do still have a black pair but I'm looking for a brown pair to replace my old ones, sadly they don't make the ones I have anymore if not I would have bought them already. But here are some that are cute (but kind of expensive for my broke, college student income).

Steve Madden makes the cutest oxford shoes imo.

The last shoe style I'm crazy about right now is Combat Boots. Just like oxfords, combat boots have been a staple of mine for years. I love to wear them with dresses and skirts, but also with jeans and jean cut-offs. I originally wanted some Dr. Martens but they are all made of leather (or at least all the ones i liked) and I don't wear real leather. Right now I have two pairs, a brown, lace-up pair and a black pair. I'm thinking of getting another pair but I haven't seen any I like yet, by now here is a cute pair.

The one's I have are similar but higher than these.

Now on to clothes.
The first thing I like are long skirts, more specifically long sheer skirts. I think they look so sexy without being too revealing like a mini skirt. They look really cute with wedge heels and can be dressed up or dressed down.
Here's a cute one!

Next up is the Flare Jeans. The 70's fashion is IN in a big way this year but my favorite item out of the whole thing is the flare jeans. They can be very casual but you can also dress them up for a night out with your friends. White flare jeans are just too cute for words, and look amazing for a night out.

Faux Fur is another thing that I can't wait to try this fall. I think it looks very sophisticated and elegant but can also look edgy when styled right. Faux Fur can be controversial, I know some people who are against it even though it's not the real thing but I don't see anything wrong with it, I mean it's not real so I do wear it.

I really want something like this. Over a LBD it would look fabulous!

The last thing (finally!) that I really like for fall are Chunky Sweaters. There is just something about chunky sweaters that makes me happy. Maybe it's because they're comfortable, maybe it's because they make me think of Christmas and rainy days and hot cocoa but chunky sweaters are a must in my wardrobe for fall and winter. Oversized knit sweaters and cardigans are my favorite thing in the world! (maybe not).

I like this!

Phew! that took me a while but hopefully you like this post. Tell me what your favorite trends are or what you are excited to wear once the weather gets colder.

Stay Golden,

I'm all over the place with this blog...

School already started and I've just been so busy lately that I hadn't had any time to blog. But I've been feeling different lately so I figured I'd make the time and get this off my chest. There are a  few things I want to blog about starting with the news that I dyed my hair last night! Which is probably not a big deal but it was the first time EVER that I dyed it so that was exciting. Well, actually I didn't do it myself, I let my good friend Viry do it for me and I love the way it came out. I chose a "Medium Red Brown" color and now i am thinking of dying the tips lighter to get an ombre effect but for that I will probably go to the salon.

Another thing I will be doing pretty soon, hopefully next week is getting a new tattoo! I had been thinking about this one for a while and I went and talked to the guy that did my first one and he had some pretty cool ideas and he remembered me from last time so that's a plus! It will be in honor of my dad just because I love him so much and I miss him and I think it will look amazing. Once it's done I'll post a picture of it. :)

Last but not least, I wanted to put together a little playlist of some songs that I just can't seem to get out of my head lately. They are all different genres and nothing new but they are songs that I love to listen to and that I've been listening to for the past few days. So if you feel bored and want to check them out please do. They are not in any particular order btw. I hope you enjoy them!

Pumped Up Kicks - Forster the People
Electric Feel - MGMT
Mr. Saxobeat - Alexandra Stan
Under the Bridge - RHCP
1901 - Phoenix
You and I - Lady Gaga
Don't You (Forget About Me) - Simple Minds
Last Request - Paolo Nutini
Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N' Roses
Hello - Martin Solveig & Dragonette

Also, I will be doing another blog later about boys and relationships and what I've been thinking about that lately and one about my favorite trends at the moment. Stay Fabulous. XXx.

Celebrity Outfit of the Week.

Finally I'm back! Sorry but I just couldn't find a celebrity outfit that I liked. I had been keeping an eye on celebrity websites but all I kept seeing were skinny jeans and a tank top or jean cut-offs and a tank top. Not that there's anything wrong with it, I myself go to my favorite denim pieces when I get up every morning but it all just looks like the same outfit, just with 2 million different people wearing it. I understand it's hot outside and it's summer but you gotta keep it original!

Anyways finally someone broke the mold. This week's celebrity outfit comes from Selena Gomez.

In a sea of denim cut-offs and t-shirts, Ms. Gomez stands out. Her outfit screams freshness to me and I just love long dresses and skirts. I probably would have worn sandals instead of flats but overall I like her outfit. I am especially in love with her purse! .. speaking of purses, last week while shopping at Marshall's I found the perfect, most beautiful Michael Kors tote bag. It was dark blue which I think would go with anything and big enough for me to take to school instead of a backpack. Then I looked at the price and my heart broke a little lol. It was crazy expensive! .. plus now that I think about it, it was probably real leather too so I'm glad I didn't buy it.

But back to the outfit! A long dress is a great way to stay fresh in the California heat but at the same time look stylish. She probably would have looked better without the t-shirt thingy on top but I'll take it just because I was desperate to find something I liked. The aviator sunglasses finished her look and added that "I'm famous" touch.

So what do you guys rhink of the outfit? Are you like the rest of us that just wears demin shorts practically all summer?

Until Next Time,

XXX.
